bomb-blast standard CL 175 SRC (175 microns thick) window film has been subjected to the ultimate test with live explosions in trials carried out by specialists Advantica at their facility at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria.

Testing was carried out in accordance with the new draft international safety glazing standard - ISO draft 16933 Explosion Resistant Security Glazing in buildings.

The test involved subjecting a fully glazed window to an explosive blast equivalent to 100kg of TNT at a distance of 31 metres. The window featured 6mm float glass protected by 175micron multi-laminate security film.

Following conclusion of the testing CL 175 SRC achieved a classification in accordance with ISO and UK Home Office Scientific Development Branch standards and an equivalent Level 3A GSA standard of Low Hazard and High Protection

bomb blast window films are manufactured with UV inhibitors deep within the body of the polyester film and added to the adhesive system giving durability and performance and are warranted  for 10years

combination solar/security RS20/200 SRC (212 microns thick) films are available that also meet all relevant bomb blast standards. These combination films are amazingly versatile providing comprehensive protection including: visual security (daylight privacy), solar control, anti-shatter and anti-bandit (when used in combination with laminated glass) and are commonly used at security gate-houses and observation posts. These window films have a metalized coating as part of their construction that exhibit electro-magnetic attenuation properties.

These films have the additional benefit of reducing UV transmission by 99% making them particularly suitable for use in museums, art galleries, stately homes, retail outlets, hotels and high quality office accommodation.
