Solar Control FilmsSolar-control window films filter out unwanted solar energy. In summer up to 65% of the sun's energy enters through a conservatory roof making the glazed roof a priority for applying solar control film. Many people find that window film applied only to the glazed roof is normally enough to allow them full use of their conservatory. |
Solar Heat-GainWith summer sun shining directly on glazing the transmission of solar energy (heat) through the glass can be as much as 750 W/m2 which is equivalent to the output of a double paneled radiator of the same size. Conservatory window film will cut up to 75% of the excess heat transmitted through the conservatory roof whilst still allowing good light-transmission. |
Solar GlareConservatory window film shades excess sunlight allowing improved visibility and helping to reduce eyestrain and headaches. Light levels (glare) from the summer sun can often exceed 10,000 lumens. Light levels as low as 800 lumens is normally sufficient to read without using electric lights. Solar film can reduce glare by 80%. |
