Security window film is designed so that when applied to ordinary glass will up-rate this glass to an anti-bandit standard. The anti-bandit standard BS EN 356 identifies 3 separate levels of dynamic performance in terms of shatter resistance of glazing materials. contact us today for a no obligation quote The anti-bandit test involves a pane being impacted under conditions that are intended to realistically simulate the forces that the glass may be subjected to if under attack by a determined intruder. The purpose of the test is to determine which of three BS EN 356 classifications - P1A, P2A or P3A may be obtained. The test consists of 3 consecutive drops of a steel ball weighing 10kg from a height of 2m for P1A, 3m for P2A and 6m for P3A onto surface one of a framed test pane. The pane is then reversed and surface two of the pane is subjected to 3 more impacts. In order to obtain a pass the ball should not pass through the glass during any of the 6 impacts. contact us now for free technical advice Even after being subjected to the full severity of the BS EN 356 test the glass, although shattered, retained its integrity. A demonstration was then set up to determine the post-test strength of the glass/film composite. Sandbags together weighing 500kg were placed on the glass and left in place for a period of 15 days without the glass sagging or giving way. Specified by Government departments including The Environment Agency, MOD, Home Office, The Chemicals Industry, Security Consultants, Health and Safety and Food Safety advisors. free glazing survey for areas over 30m2
